Teaching Grammar (Two Volumes), textbooks

These books contain 87 lessons in three parts. Part I includes common forms of sentences: statement, question, exclamation, and request/command. Part II helps students recognize basic word classes and sentence functions: nouns, subjects, pronouns, the verb “be,” and other single word verbs. It concludes with a review of the sentences through the practicing of “yes/no” questions and negative statements. Part III continues word classes and sentence functions by introducing basic sentence types, such as Subject-Verb, Subject-Verb-Object, Subject-Verb-Indirect Object-Direct Object, etc.
Every series of lessons ends in a writing activity in which students are able to demonstrate their understanding of each grammatical component.
